Free medical services to be offered at 2024 Operation Border Health Preparedness at PSJA High
SAN JUAN - Free medical services, including dental and vision, will be available during the annual Operation Border Health Preparedness (OBHP) to be held at PSJA Early College High School located at 805 W. Ridge Rd in San Juan, from July 22 to July 26, 2024.
Operation Border Health Preparedness is an exercise to help the community get ready for disasters. Each year, the event is made possible by local county and city health departments, medical schools, human service organizations, Texas Military Forces, and universities, as well as out-of-state agencies, such as Remote Area Medical (RAM) and other volunteer groups.
Free medical services available at PSJA ECHS will include:

Immunizations for all ages

Medical Exams

Blood Pressure Checks

Diabetes Screenings

Hearing and Vision Exams

Sports Physicals
-
Dental Services (cleanings, fillings, and extractions)

Vision Exams and Mobile lab to make prescription glasses
The hours of operation for OBHP are as follows:

July 22-25 (Monday-Thursday 8 am – 3:00pm)

July 26 (Friday 8 am – 1 pm)
Services are open to individuals of all ages. Individuals are encouraged to bring any prescription medications with them.

Operation Border Health Preparedness is a joint disaster preparedness exercise providing state and local government and nonprofit partners an opportunity to practice setting up and operating health clinics that may be needed in the case of a public health emergency.
Participating organizations include the Texas Military Department, Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps, Cameron County Public Health, Hidalgo County Health & Human Services, City of Laredo Health Department, UTRGV Medical School, Texas A&M University, local nursing schools and other nonprofit groups.
